The Black Eyed Peas & Sting Help Fight Poverty
The proceeds collected from The Black Eyed Peas "Concert in Central Park" and generous donation from Sting's "25th Anniversary/60th Birthday concert at the Beacon Theatre" last month, amounting in excess of of over seven million dollars, will be employed by the Robin Hood organization to fight poverty in New York City. Funds will be of benefit, “to support food pantries, homeless shelters, and health clinics, and to open three Peapod “music based" Academies in New York.” For more information goto>> RobinHood.

Bret Michaels Contributes To Institution
Musician Bret Michaels has donated, the Michael's Hospitality and Music Room, to the St. Joseph's Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix. Michaels entered the facility, as a “subarachnoid hemorrhage" patient in 2010, which played a tremendous role in the singer's recovery. Michaels adds, "I want to give something back to the hospital that helped save my life... Phoenix is my home and I'm proud to be a part of this community." Justin Bieber Launches New Charity Drive
Singer Justin Bieber, through his new Believe Charity Drive, donate a portion of the proceeds from his new holiday release -Under The Mistletoe- to charity. Music Empowers Foundation Begins New Fund Initiative
The Music Empowers Foundation, the national not-for-profit that provides grants to fund innovative music education programs for kids, currently has a fund raising initiative to raise money for continued music efforts. Avril Lavigne's Rock Star Club
The Avril Lavigne Foundation and Easter Seals have granted four selected affiliates, with the Avril Lavigne Rockstar Club (Respect, Opportunity, Choices, Knowledge, and Strength) at Easter Seals grant, for the purpose of "support recreational programming for children and youth with disabilities, their families, and communities." The Easter Seals Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana in Ohio, Easter Seals Capper Foundation in Kansas, Easter Seals Massachusetts, and Easter Seals Southern California have been chosen. Lavigne adds, "I was inspired by the creativity of everyone who applied and the exciting range of opportunities the Easter Seals affiliates presented...My goal is to help bring more resources to these great programs." Nick Jonas and Bayer HealthCare Announce Contest For Diabetes
A chance meeting with musician Nick Jonas is available through the Bayer HealthCare sponsored contest"Simple Inspirations" for Diabetes. Those living with diabetes are invited to encourage "newly diagnosed patients by sharing their most inspirational thoughts about living with the disease. The goal of the contest is to enrich the lives of everyone who has diabetes...to demonstrate that people with diabetes can live a full and engaged life by effectively managing their condition." The winner of the competition shall win a grand prize meeting with Jonas, who himself was diagnosed with diabetes as a teen, and a video appearance in a video with Jonas scheduled to go active November 14, 2011, on World Diabetes Day.
