Country Music Singer Combats Child Hunger

Country Music star Kellie Pickler has joined The ConAgra Foods Foundation, and Feeding America, as a national spokesman for the "Hunger-Free Summer" effort. The new program combating child hunger aims to provide children with healthy meal choices during the summer. Fans can join the cause by downloading "The Hunger Avengers" activity booklet sharing many ways in which to help support and educate by sharing knowledge about child hunger.
Pickler adds, “At some point, all of us have encountered hungry children in our own community, but I was shocked to learn that millions of kids may go hungry during the summer...That is why I am honored to be working with the ConAgra Foods Foundation and Feeding America to raise awareness of this problem and show there's help through programs like Hunger-Free Summer." Musician Honored For Charitable Work

The music community services foundation MusiCares will honor musician Bruce Springsteen  as the  "2013 MusiCares® Person of the Year," on February 8, 2013, for “his extraordinary creative accomplishments, charitable work,  and philanthropic activities over the years.”  Proceeds from the gala event will be of benefit to continued MusicCares efforts. Singer Joins Cause For Blood Cancer

Singer Miranda Cosgrove is the "National Ambassador for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's 2012 Light The Night Walks." Country Music Star Performs For Cancer Benefit

Country Music star John Rich joins music entertainers, Kellie Pickler, Darius Rucker, Jeff Foxworthy, and Big & Rich, for the "St. Jude Presents John Rich & Friends" concert on June 5, 2012.   Rich adds, "St. Jude Children's Research Hospital holds a very special place in my heart, that's why I'm excited to kick off the FedEx St. Jude Classic with the John Rich & Friends concert ... I don't know how you could spend your time any better on this earth than to support something like St. Jude. Natalie Merchant Sings For Clean Water

Singer Natalie Merchant will perform  a benefit concert, “against gas shale hydrofracking” on March 10, 2012, at The Forum Theatre in Binghamton N.Y.   Merchant adds, "Hydrofracking poses the greatest threat to clean drinking water in New York and Pennsylvania right now. Our opposition to this threat is imperative. I hope people can come to the concert to show their concern."
